2017 Texas Apartment Association Legislative Day Get Things Done in Austin

The 2017 Texas Apartment Association Legislative Day was a productive one for members of Better World. Making the trek from their corporate office in Houston to Austin, Terri Clifton, Michael Knight and Reuven Bisk of Better World Properties met with Texas legislators and their staff members on key legislation to support the Houston Apartment Association, the Texas Apartment Association and the multifamily industry. Each year, over 200 multifamily professionals from across the state of Texas attend the annual Texas Apartment Association Legislative Day in an effort to collectively address issues concerning the Texas multifamily industry.

Key legislation promoted by three principals of Better World Properties included:

  • Stop misrepresentation of emotional support animals
  • Clarification of residential late fees
  • Improvements to the multifamily property tax system
  • Clarification of renter water billing complaint process
  • Increase transparency of municipal fees
  • Close loophole allowing unlicensed management companies to operate

The principals of Better World Properties are active and long-term members of Houston Apartment Association, the Texas Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association working for better world improvements for multifamily investors, multifamily owners and apartment residents.
